Kudos to those of you who are able to keep the numbers in the right column and actually enjoy it! Here’s a fun place to see if you are right or left brained. .

I first met this lovely family 7 years ago when I was commissioned to create a hand-painted piece of the youngest girl, Bridget. She was only 6 at the time. When mom contacted me a few weeks ago I was so excited to get to see Bridget again and meet her siblings after all these years. I didn’t even recognize Bridget, even though I had her 6 year old portrait hanging in my office for 7 years. She had changed so much! Mom wanted to capture this special time as they are all teenagers for one year only — 19, 15 and 13.

I went antiquing with a good friend this evening and she convinced me I needed this bed. She could see I was waffling so as a true friend she twisted my arm until I gave in. Thanks, Yvonne! Then we went out for dinner and we talked–really talked. You know what I mean; when someone gets everything you’re saying? I am so lucky to have made such a great friend. I think we were separated at birth. Which leads me back to babies. I need a baby for this bed. I’m looking for a scrumptious 0-3 month old boy (but a girl will also work). I have the perfect idea, just need that baby. Our crazy beagle, Lou, tried to help me out, but he’s not really what I’m looking for. When I set up to take this picture Lou kept trying to climb in. So any human babies that want to model for me and my new prop, shoot me an e-mail at robin@robinorvis.com, include your phone number and we’ll talk. You’ll get digital files in trade for modeling. Someone is going to be very lucky!

So I’m updating the blog after a week off. A week for our first family vacation of the summer. We went to Table Rock Lake. Had a great time. I was completely without cell phone, computer and internet. It was surprisingly wonderful! Here are my favorite boys in the world, Leland and Spencer. Spencer had the daddies one evening and just wanted to snuggle on the sofa with dad. Isn’t that cool at almost 14?!

Of course he was back in teen mode the next morning and gave his dad a good dunking!

And putting the kayaks away after a day of kayaking. Spence got to bring his friend Nikhil with him. We had a great time.
